I feel windows search is slowing down my system and as I have other search capabilities, I would like to disable it
How can I do this?

Did you install Windows Search 4.0?

If so, then all you have to do is uninstall it.

FWIW: This program was designed for Vista (native to Vista) and is not really needed in XP (IMO)...various users have reported problems after installing it on XP systems.

Ignore the standard warning that it may give about certain programs depending on it...blah, blah, blah.

I did not install it but the Tech who put my machine together may have done so. I do have a process running called "WindowsSearch.exe". How can I uninstall it?
