Hi - I'm new user from Az., USA. I'm always looking for a good forum so I can learn more about computers. I am not totally newbie but am not far above newbie. Use WinXP OS and, for about 8 months, was dual-booting XP and MEPIS Linux. Then switched to XP and Linspire for about 2 months. After that removed Linspire and was going to re-install MEPIS but before I finished install I completely hosed both OS's. Then my ext. hard drive
died. I was storing images of both OS's on it and had no other backups. For 3 yrs. I have been pretty lucky and haven't had any major probs. Just goes to show - you can't be too careful. One GOOD thing - found that re-install of XP went easier than I expected. Currently only using XP but will get back to MEPIS when drive space permits. GLAD to have found this forum, it looks pretty nice!
