I have been trying to get an anti-virus program working and can't really seem to find one that works. I have version of McAfee and Symantec. McAfee says it doesn't recognize the version of windows ... and when I installed Symantec (Coprporate version 10) it fails toward the end of the install and resets the computer. When it reboots I get a BSOD.

Any ideas?

Also, does Vista have the system recovery built-in yet?

I just installed AVG Free and it works fine. As for system restore, even though the option is there, it does not seem to be currently running. Disabling and starting it should create new restore points which is not happening. Also the system restore utility is missing

Is it 2004 McAfee? I read on MS website there is a "known issue" with this not working. I tried it, too, cos thats what I have- and it was a big no go.

I have a copy of NAV2005, but I wouldn't even want that on my XP Pro computer. I'm gonna try Mac 2005 AV (and maybe Kaspersky) and see what happens and I'll post on it
Anybody know where John Titors's '66 Vette is (or was, or will be)?

Tried Panda Titanium and McAfee 2006 (ver 10)- no go.

But McAfee Enterprise 8.0i works!
