I have a Dell INSPIRON 9300 here and it seems to have some problems, although I have just started it up, I am told it freezes or has some problem that I am not sure I have got to yet, . .
however, for now about the time a Norton Anti Virus Auto Protect Message came up, I also got

the Message with the RED X and it states that Cannot Load the dll CnxtSdk.dll after closing that message the next one up is another RED X Message;
The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000142). Click OK to terminate the application.

I am going to Google these to see if I can come up with anything, where I might get a clue.

If you think you might have an applicable solution, Id be glad to hear from you.

FYI, .

I do not have a lot of details about this PC, at this time, there are three little lights on the right near the cover hinge key board right below the screen cover, the battery light is blinking, possibly it is charging, . .the light (middle) appears to be blinking but at the same rate as the battery light and is probably the glow of the battery light blinking.

I just found out the owner tried to reload the system with a reinstallation disc, but was apparently the wrong one, therefore he has some software and other parts missing and does not have an original installation disc, . .

if you know this model is there a system restore that will take it back to original condition etc, I am not sure if the HD was reformatted, there are two users, so I am at the early stage, of checking out the system etc.

Your help will be appreciated.

In the Device Manager
I see that under other devices there are yellow question marks for
Ethernet Controller
Multimedia Controller
network Controller
PCI Device PCI Modem
SM Controller
Video Controller

I checked the first to roll back the driver, . . it seems that there is no driver to roll back so this may be the main problem these drivers are missing.

I'll query DELL

Main Question;
Can I download drivers to a disc then pop them in the laptop ?

See bold`d text. That I believe is for neither. I think it is for the Wired NIC.

Thanks, I appreciate your time and efforts, hope it has not been to much of a hassle, . .
unfortunately I admittedly am thick-headed, and can not make it out
The language seems altogether different. for example;
Multimedia Audio Controller, . .I do not see this in the list ?

I really don't understand which drives from that page here-in below, match the drivers indicated,found further below the web site list herein;

ThunderZ,
I don't know how long these will take to download to a CD or even if I can do that, at this time I don't see anything forewarning me that I can't, but to do this I may have to wait and do it over night, . . I'll check out some of the smaller sizes first.

Here is a list from your selection, hoping I have it right ?

Will let you know when I get these loaded in. Much Thanks !

Not sure if you need the Sonic Solutions or not. It will not hurt anything since it did come originally installed.

After you down load them you should have no problem burning them to a CD to transfer and install on the troubled PC. Another option is if you have a flash drive.

Yes, I am in the process of D/L, with my 500MB RAM, it is not the fastest thing in the world but it seems to be working- ok, . . was there a way that you can determine if this is a dial up or wireless,
I'm unsure of that, and am thinking that when I do move the drivers over possibly before I have them all in stalled, ( a couple-few, etc.), I might try going on line with the laptop and directly downloading from there, if there isn't a way for you to tell, not a problem, . I will probably be in touch with the owner tonight.

I have no idea what type of connection the user has. How ever once the ethernet and modem driver are installed then you will be ready in case of either DSL\cable or dial-up.

Do you know the name of his ISP. That may provide a clue.
