I recently got a virus on my computer somehow and it has officially taken over everything. I cannot access internet explorer(AIM and things do work), it doesnt let me boot in safemode. Anytime I try to run something like Adaware it just says you cannot open this file, you do not have permission. Or if I try to do a system restore it says it has been turned off by group policy and you need admin rights to do so. I dont know if it matters but I have found a way to unlock the registry editor.

I dont really know that much about computers so any help would be really appreciated...And again, ive searched all over the internet and everyone just says to boot in safe mode, or download this or that....I cannot do either because the virus has already blocked them.

Thanks...im on windows XP.

Hi, I'm no expert but you may want to have a look at my thread as it sounds similar to the problem I've been having http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/267067/possible-trojan/
