I am running on Windows XP, with a Satellite 1955, and just want to disable the SMART thing step-by-step.

I tried pressing F2 at boot-up but couldn't find anything about SMART. Is there another way to do this?

Please add me on MSN and help me!

I really appreciate it!

Why would you want to disable SMART?? If you are getting a SMART error, then it is time to back up your data before the HDD fails.

I ran many different programs to diagnose my HDD and they all said it was OK. From what I have read, SMART is right only 50-60% of the time, and I just want to disable it so this message stops coming up, PLEASE HELP ME.
