I'm not sure what's causing this problem but I use AVG and it is set up to run a scan at 1.00am every morning. I turn the PC monitor off when I go to bed and when I get up the scan is complete and I check the log. During the last week, when I turn the PC monitor on in the morning the PC has frozen and the clock gives a time of around 1:40 to 2:10. So the PC has frozen during the AVG Virus scan. Any Ideas?

I have a Fujiitsu Siemens PC running Windows XP Professional SP3, 1GB RAM.

I previously had a malware problem and posted in the Malware forum. That thread was closed on 20th September 2009 and I don't know whether this problem is linked - AVG has worked fine every night for about 3 weeks until this problem started

Hope someone can help
