Ok i just made this account and dont know if i posted right so sorry if i didnt. anyways i have a really bad virus and need help really bad. so i got a virus that put 3 porn shortcuts on my desktop (youporn, nudetube and... i forget) and some computer police security thing or something. ive tried running panda but it only disinfected a few files. theres really nothing, that i know of, that i could do because this virus is causing tons of problems.

1) i cant run system restore. first it said it was disabled till i removed the entries in the registry. now it says cannot run while in safe mode. and safe mode is the only thing i can use because i cant use task manager in the normal mode.

2) explorer.exe wont run so the only way of accessing anything is through task manager. ( i just click file run and browse to delete or run any files or programs.... thats the only thing i can do... luckily internet works

3)i can only run in safe mode because if i boot normally explorer doesnt run and if i try to use task manager it says its disabled.

4) last thing ive noticed is it wont let me access documents&settings/(userfile). it says access denied.

so far the answers ive gotten havent helped (on yahoo answers) because i already have malwarebytes but it wont run because of the virus...
Also the other programs suggested on yahoo answers like superantispyware wont run either because of the virus. it begins to run for like a second and then an error message pops up and says the system administrator has set policies to prevent this installation. I have now tried many more anti adware programs and i keep getting error messages during installation which cancels the installation. by the way.. when i try to run explorer.exe it says "windows cannot access the specified device...blah blah.. you may not have the permissions to access them. And yes i am admin. a lot of things ive been trying have said access denied or i dont have rights. i did run combofix but when i looked for the log it wasnt a txt file and i couldnt open it

ANY ADVICE?? PLEASE HELP ME! this is very difficult

Welcome to BC

:trumpet:

We Need to check for Rootkits with RootRepeal
  • Download RootRepeal from the following location and save it to your desktop.
  • Extract RootRepeal.exe from the archive (If you did not use the "Direct Download" mirror).
  • Open Posted Image on your desktop.
  • Click the Posted Image tab.
  • Click the Posted Image button.
  • Check all seven boxes: Posted Image
  • Push Ok
  • Check the box for your main system drive (Usually C:), and press Ok.
  • Allow RootRepeal to run a scan of your system. This may take some time.
  • Once the scan completes, push the Posted Image button. Save the log to your desktop, using a distinctive name, such as RootRepeal.txt. Include this report in your next reply, please.

----------------------------------

Please note: If Rootrepeal fails to run, try this step: Click Settings - Options. Set the Disk Access slider to High

Also try: right-click on rootrepeal.exe and rename it to tatertot.scr

--------------------------------------

 Go to Posted Image > Run..., then copy and paste this command into the open box: cmd

You have a rootkit infection

Now that you were successful in creating those logs you need to post them in our HJT forum There they will help you with the removal through some custom scripts and programs that we cannot run here in this forum

First, try to run a DDS / HJT log as outlined in our preparation guide:
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/34773/preparation-guide-for-use-before-using-malware-removal-tools-and-requesting-help/

If it won't run, don't worry, just give a brief description and tell them that these logs were all you could get to run successfully

Post them here:
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/f/22/virus-trojan-spyware-and-malware-removal-logs/

The HJT team is extremely busy, so be patient and good luck
