I have been having a problem for the past week with instances of iexplore.exe running in the task manager. There are almost always two copies running, and as I end them in the task manager they pop up again just as quickly. Occasionally actual IE windows do open displaying ads, primarily for games or dating services, often starting with CiD (as in CiD: Play Everblah, or CiD: Group Dating). This has only been a nuisance so far, but I can tell it is in the background slowing things down. I have been running a firewall and have installed MS Security Essentials, and run CCleaner and Spybot S&D, neither of which has helped this particular problem. I also have Symantec AntiVirus running, but it has not found any problems either. This thing seems to go particularly nuts (as in opening a lot of IE browsers) when I am running programs outside of windows.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! I am willing to pay for software if necessary, but have been hesitant because everything claims to be a sure bet, and I have no way of knowing what will work.

Thanks,

Aaron
