Hello mantha,

I don't see anything malicious in your log. This isn't a tell all, however, so you'll have to tell me what problems you're having. :(

My computer is generally running slow, it fails to start up and I have to switch off and on numerous times until I get a log on screen, it also will freeze randomly so I have to switch off. My avg wont complete a scan but the result I get before it shuts down is:
"\\?\globalroot\systemroot\system32\UACovkkchsejb.dll";"Trojan horse Generic14.BSPK";"Moved to Virus Vault"
"\\?\globalroot\systemroot\system32\UACovkkchsejb.dll";"Trojan horse Generic14.BSPK";"Moved to Virus Vault"

"C:\WINDOWS\Temp\UAC1795.tmp";"Virus found Win32/Cryptor";"Moved to Virus Vault"

Avg cannot heal the trojan.

I have tried Malware bytes on advice from our IT people but still have the same issues.

Thanks for your reply

Hello,

To be honest, most IT people don't have a clue about malware. That said, if this is a business computer and you have IT people, they get paid to deal with this and should do so. I'm a volunteer, not a paid employee, and I don't want to break any company policies there might be in place regarding IT/company computers.

You have a rootkit, which is why what you've run isn't removing the problem. Before we do anything though I need to know that IT will approve me fixing this for you. I really don't want to break any company rules.

Our IT is outsourced and I was told they had fixed it when they came in last week, we are only a small company and they are telling me that I need to totally wipe my computer and reload it but that to me seems extreme and time consuming and more for their gain rather than mine!

Hi,

Boss man needs some new IT guys then. He can put me on retainer :( No need to wipe the drive at all. :( Let's get rid of that rootkit.

I need for you to go offline completely and disable ALL your protective programs after you download ComboFix, but before you run it. Sometimes those programs interfere with it, and we don't want that! :)

This tool is not a toy. If used the wrong way you could trash your computer. Please use only under direction of a Helper. If you decide to do so anyway, please do not blame me or ComboFix.

1. Download this file - combofix.exe
http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/ComboFix.exe
http://www.forospyware.com/sUBs/ComboFix.exe

2. Double click combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
3. When finished, it will produce a log for you. Post that log in your next reply please, along with a new HijackThis log.

Note:
Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it's running. That may cause it to stall.

If ComboFix will not run the first time, then rename ComboFix.exe to mantha.exe and try it again. :)

Thanks,
tea

Hello,

Yes you did. :( I see some old entries for Norton. If it isn't being used any more, then it should be completely removed. Norton is well known for messy uninstalls and can slow systems down long after the user thinks it's gone.

The Norton uninstall tool uninstalls ALL Norton 2004/2005/2006/2007/2008/2009 products from your computer. It also uninstalls Norton Ghost 10.0/9.0/2003. http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgen...005033108162039

* Open notepad - don't use any other text editor than notepad or the script will fail.
Copy/paste the text in the quote box below into notepad:

File::
c:\windows\system32\drivers\hfvf.sys
c:\windows\system32\drivers\gesbpf.sys
c:\windows\system32\drivers\zhnurub.sys
c:\windows\system32\drivers\yukmrlr.sys

Driver::
hfvf
gesbpf
zhnurub
yukmrlr

Save this as txtfile CFScript

Then drag the CFScript into ComboFix.exe as you see in the screenshot below.

Posted Image

This will start ComboFix again.

After reboot, (in case it asks to reboot), post the contents of Combofix.txt in your next reply together with a new HijackThis log.

How is it running now please? :(

Thanks,
tea

Hello,

Told you we didn't need to wipe the drive. :( I'm glad it's running better. Since you already have MBAM, please make sure it's updated and have a scan with it. Please post the report in your reply. If that comes out all right then we'll finish up here. :(

Thanks,
tea

Hello,

Yes, that's good. :( Most of them were in system restore and ComboFix's quarantine by then, inactive and easy to remove. :(

The following will uninstall ComboFix and will implement some cleanup procedures:

Click Start > Run and copy/paste, or type the following bolded text into the Run box and click OK:

ComboFix /u

Still running well? :)
