My dad has a laptop and recently bought a printer, what I'm wondering is can he set up the printer wirelessly and if so how?
I have my printer set up on my daughters laptop but the printer is connected to the desktop. could I connect the printer to the modem(netopia,I think) so he can print away without having to bring the printer out from the other room every time.
Thank you

If he just bought it there might be a chance is it network ready. Meaning it has a place to plug in a Cat5 cable. If not then you can hook it to another Pc like you have yours set up or he could get a print server. Print servers are little boxes you connect a printer to and it connects it to your network. Print servers come in wired and wireless versions. If you have a wireless router, wireless print server would be the way to go. They cost a little more but since you can set them up anywhere you have wireless signal from your router, makes them really versatile.

Hope this helps thumbup.gif

Thanks for the reply, I'll be calling in to him later in the week so I'll check then if it has an opening for a cat5 cable and I'll search around for a price on a wireless print server. Will post results later in the week
