I have been having what i think amounts to a miniature hard drive failure, but im not sure because the diagnostic software isnt the best.

I was wondering if there was some freeware out there that would do some major diagnostics on my hard drive (i think its a bad sector)

Annnnd you're, asking, me...

if its a bad sector then go to Scandisk and click Thourgh
and then in options tab click on system and data areas and then click ok and click start

also the maker of the hard drive should have some diagnostics software on its website
