I've posted to other forums, but just found this one. Maybe I should tell you some things about my computer, in case that's needed for future reference.

Dell Dimension 8200, 512 MB RAM; Intel Pentium 4 Processor (with Intel Application Accelerator); i850 chipset; Phoenix BIOS; Dell 1702 FP LCD; Brother MFC 420-cn; Norton Antivirus, Spybot, MS AntiSpyware, FreeRAM XP Pro, Google Web Accelerator, Mozilla Firefox and Thunderbird. And I've probably forgotten something. Oh, yes: the BIOS has never been updated; all other items listed have the latest updates available.

I've had my computer system for three years; I've managed to learn a bit more than I ever thought I would -- but only in some areas. In other areas, I'm a complete ignoramous!!

I stumbled onto your forum while looking for info on MS Vista Beta 1, and I'm glad to join your community.

 to BC! rani9.
Your computer seems to have the "minimum" requirements for Vista. However you might be able to get the slimmed down version.

Good Luck,
