I have a Gateway solo 5300 laptop (old school i know) It came with Windows ME on the gateway restoration disk and i eventually upgraded to XP using a friends disk - well i decided to erase my hard drive and re-download my OS. The problem with that is that i don't have the restoration disk that came with my laptop and now i have to use a restoration disk for an older gateway computer that has windows 98 on it. Well when i try to install windows 98 using the restoration disk i get an error on my computer that says that there was an error formatting my primary hard disk partition. So i was wondering if anyone could help me fix this problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. Gateway tech support sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
