How to find Hidden files in Desktop?

Hi,I have downloaded a video and image/songs files in desktop,
i have marked them as hidden and now am unable to find them out/ kindly any one can help me to recover these files......
am using windows xp service pack 3..

1. Open any folder. In file menu open Tools > Folder Options
2. Select View tab in Folder Options window.
3. UnCheck Do not show hidden files and folders and click OK to save the settings.
