can someone help me? i'm trying to change my desktop wallpaper but anytime i click on 'active desktop' then 'customize my desktop' i get a warning message saying 'Cannot find the file 'c:\windows\rundll32.exe' (or one of it's components). Make sure the path and filename are correct and that all required libraries are available.'

You can try downloading the file here, and replace it in the indicated folder. This can be caused by a virus, or sometimes it gets deleted while trying to kill a virus. Download the correct version for your operating system.
