Last night my computer randomly shut off and I cannot get a picture back up. All I can get is "No signal" like I do not have my monitor plugged in. Then I realized that the fan on the card was not spinning (sapphire ati x850 pci-e). I have no other PCI-e cards to try and no other motherboards with a PCI-e slot to try. I'm pretty sure it is either the card fried, the pci-e slot is messed up, or the power supply. I wanted to see what you guys thought before I start buying things to guess and check.

Do you have a friend who will let you put your card in his computer? With no fan, I would guess it's the card, but it would be nice if you could try it out in another setup.

How handy are you?
You might be able to replace the fan

It ended up being a fried video card. I was home for the weekend and it was my little sisters computer. Hooked up an older power supply and that didnt fix it. She didn't tell me that all week the screen kept having random streaks going across it then blacking out. If I had known that before I would've known it was the card overheating, so I just got her a cheap new card and hooked it up. It was kind of interesting to see how expensive PCI cards are in comparison to PCI-e though while I was shopping around haha, but thanks for the replies

edit: Also I was curious if anyone had experience with something like http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16835114024 and how effective they actually are
