I wanna use system restore and/or just use the sfc cmd to get a fresh windows install back...but I think im gonna need a registry backup instead...btw it all started with a newly discovered cisvc issue with google gears

The story goes that I was using Hijackthis, and its late...I clicked on a checkbox above the crap I was removing, clicked fix and the "OH bleep" moment happened...Power went out like 5 min after before I could fix the issue????? (the drive is fine)...and now I have a reboot scenario from hell...

I get passed the booting sequence, past the loading screen and hit a bsod from hell (before I get into windows...just blue w/words and restart)...

booted the restore option from windows cd...used fixboot for my windows partition (it wasnt gonna do bleep, I know that)...but now my only option on the wonderful world of the restricted windows command line install cd is 'fixmbr'...I dont wanna use fixmbr because I am afraid that it will destroy my multi-partition drive

need a solution other than reinstall...

I have a registry backup made before I fudged it...I just gotta access it/reinstall it (used uniblue registry booster 2010)

quick ppl PLZ...my new job depends on it...and plz dont tell me to switch over to linux (its great and all that but I am not here to switch)
