Hi There,

I'm having problems with my browsing in Firefox. It's only been happening since i opened what i thought was a piece of audio software and it's turned out to be some kind of adware/virus. What happened first of all was that a message popped up saying that i had a virus on my computer, and the only way to fix it would be to buy a particular anti virus package. What's happening now is that everytime i browse in Firefox from a Google search page, i am re-directed to another set of search results along similar lines but also trying to sell me loads of other crap too. When i first boot up i have also noticed that Windows is shutting down Explorer straight away, telling me that it is protecting my computer from malicious behaviour.

I'm pretty new to to this so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Roddy.

We need to see some information about what is happening in your machine. Please perform the following scan:
  • Download DDS by sUBs from one of the following links. Save it to your desktop.
  • Double click on the DDS icon, allow it to run.
  • A small box will open, with an explanation about the tool. No input is needed, the scan is running.
  • Notepad will open with the results.
  • Follow the instructions that pop up for posting the results.
  • Close the program window, and delete the program from your desktop.
Please note: You may have to disable any script protection running if the scan fails to run. After downloading the tool, disconnect from the internet and disable all antivirus protection. Run the scan, enable your A/V and reconnect to the internet.
