I am having problems with a used PC that I bought online. It was "clean" when I got it but I have been battling poor performance issues since I started using it. Also, 9 times out of 10 the cursor gets stolen. It just moves off to one side of the screen or the other. after I run Windows defender, it stops moving and I get control back.

Windows defender finds Trojan:Win32/Hiloti.gen!A almost everyday. It removes it but then it is back the next day. The computer also had Trojan:win32/Winsebsec and trojanDownloader:win32/Bredolab.x on it but windows removed those and I assume they are gone. I have windows firewall in place and run Avast. Also, avast does not find Trojan:Win32/Hiloti.gen!A.

I have done the steps prior to asking for help suggested in the FAQ section and I am ready for help.

Thanks

Mike C.

Thanks and again sorry for the delay.

We need to see some information about what is happening in your machine. Please perform the following scan:
  • Download DDS by sUBs from one of the following links. Save it to your desktop.
  • Double click on the DDS icon, allow it to run.
  • A small box will open, with an explaination about the tool. No input is needed, the scan is running.
  • Notepad will open with the results.
  • Follow the instructions that pop up for posting the results.
  • Close the program window, and delete the program from your desktop.
Please note: You may have to disable any script protection running if the scan fails to run. After downloading the tool, disconnect from the internet and disable all antivirus protection. Run the scan, enable your A/V and reconnect to the internet.
