Hi guys, I've been here before, but recently regained freedom (internet.) I woke up the other morning after downloading a very long stream of malware reports and rootkit removals and dozing off, and well apparently I seemed to have accidentally stepped on my monitor (Dell Inspiron 1525). It no longer shows pixels as normal, and no information "seemingly" can be obtained from it. What I ask is several questions: Where should I purchase a new screen? Most I have found are decent LCD refurbished screens ranging from 85-145$. Is there any way of running my laptop as an external hard drive while not being able to use the monitor so I can access content I have? Its hard drive is three times as large as this desktop. Is there any way to change the dell media settings to allow HDMI support considering I cant read a thing on it? Possible walkthrough of keystrokes? (figured worth a shot to be cheap and have my tv as my monitor. Use it in classes but I don't think it auto-adjusts.)
Ultimately I must repair the screen, but I am in a current money crunch so any advice is appreciated, as well as the sometimes "Tough Breaks"
Thanks my fellow techies!
