hi every body... i got a trojan or a virus, and im not sure what to do... the only protection that i have was spy bot. well this virus will let me go to antivirus sights, but it will not let me install them on my computer in normal mode or safe mode... i have tried to use mcafee, symantec, avast, stinger. it will not even let me run spybot anymore... and its just freezing my computer from startup... in safe mode it works better, but i cant connect to the internet. i have tried to use system restore, but whatever i have turned it off and it says that i must contact a system admin to turn it back on! i cant find my cd's to just reload windows, can anyone point me in the right direction? thanks alot for the help

Welcome to BC
Sounds like you have a rootkit infection

Please download Win32kDiag.exe by AD and save it to your desktop.
alternate download 1
alternate download 2
  • This tool will create a diagnostic report for me to review.
  • Double-click on Win32kDiag.exe to run and let it finish.
  • When it states Finished! Press any key to exit..., press any key on your keyboard to close the program.
  • A file called Win32kDiag.txt should be created on your Desktop.
  • Open that file in Notepad and copy/paste the entire contents (from Starting up... to Finished! Press any key to exit...) in your next reply.

    --------------------------------------
Go to Posted Image > Run..., then copy and paste this command into the open box: cmd
Click OK.
At the command prompt C:\>, copy and paste the following command and press Enter:
DIR /a/s %windir%\scecli.dll %windir%\netlogon.dll %windir%\eventlog.dll >Log.txt & START notepad Log.txt
A file called log.txt should be created on your Desktop.
Open that file and copy/paste the contents in your next reply.

ok i have an even bigger problem now, i just tried to get on firefox... it would close before the homepage even loaded, samething with internet explorer...finally got firefox to open, and downloaded the win32 diag.exe and this is what it says

starting up...
WARNING: could not get desktop directory - log file will be at C:\
press any key to continue

Error could not read log file (13)!
Running from C:/ Windows\system32\systemprofile\Deskop\Win32kDiag.exe

at first i couldnt get the program to open by double clicking, so i right clicked and chose run as
when i pressed any key to continue, a window popped up and said that win32kdiag.exe.has encountered a problem and needs to close.

also i now noticed that when i cnrl alt delete, i cannot click on task manager anymore

and also when i went to START, and clicked on run, and put cmd into the run box, it said that windows could not open this file..

i think i have a bigger problem than i thought!

Try this

-- Vista users can refer to these instructions to open a command prompt.

Alternatively you can do this:

Please download peek.bat and save it to your Desktop. Double-click on peek.bat to run it. A black Command Prompt window will appear indicating the program is running. Once it is finished, copy and paste the entire contents of the Log.txt file it creates in your next reply.

If you encounter a problem downloading or getting peek.bat to run, go to Posted Image > Run..., and in the open box, type: Notepad
  • Click OK.
  • Copy and paste everything in the code box below into the Untitled - Notepad.
@ECHO OFF
DIR /a/s C:\WINDOWS\scecli.dll C:\WINDOWS\netlogon.dll C:\WINDOWS\eventlog.dll C:\Windows\cngaudit.dll >Log.txt
START Log.txt
DEL %0
  • Go to File > Save As, click the drop-down box to change the Save As Type to *All Files and save it as "peek.bat" on your desktop.
  • Double-click peek.bat to run the script.
  • A window will open and close quickly, this is normal.
  • A file called log.txt should be created on your Desktop.
  • Open that file and copy/paste the contents in your next reply.
-- Vista users, users can refer to these instructions to Run a Batch File as an Administrator.

ok... i could download peekbat, but it wouldnt let me run it... i finally got my c:/ to open but when i put in the code that you gave me 2 posts ago , it said access is denied. i tried to open note pad, but it wouldnt let me. however when c:/ said access is denied it opened up note pad, so i copied the code in there and tried to save it, but it said that i was not allowed to save anything to desktop, and i should check my security settings over my network or something like that... so basically i guess i cant get a log yet.

and one more thing... i tried to start it in safe mode and it said operating system not found, but it started up in normal mode??

wait a min. i just tried to run peekbot again and it worked (i think) this is what it gave me.

now i cant even get my desktop to load,

Have you tried safe mode w/networking?
Try the first part of this guide to get your Desktop back

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/virus-remo...dows-police-pro

Now that you were successful in creating that peekbat you need to post it in our HJT forum:
First, try to run a DDS / HJT log as outlined in our preparation guide:
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/34773/preparation-guide-for-use-before-using-malware-removal-tools-and-requesting-help/

If it won't run, don't worry, just give a brief description and tell them that these logs were all you could get to run successfully

Post them here:
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/f/22/virus-trojan-spyware-and-malware-removal-logs/

The HJT team is extremely busy, so be patient and good luck
