Hi folks, having a bit of a problem. Recently I re-enabled Windows Update to try and update, but upon starting all the requered services I received the follow message while trying to start Background Intelligent Transfer Service:

  • "The Background Intelligent Transfer Service on Local Computer started and then stopped. Some services stop automatically if they are not in use by other services or programs."
This one is being a bit of a pest to fix, I have talked to novice tech support friends, Microsoft, looked for hours on Google. Any help solving this would be very much appreciated!

Is COM+Event System service running and set to Automatic?

Also Remote Procedure Call should be running.
