why wot windows update

Hi i am having problems with the windows updater and windows defender every time i try and download updates the laptop says it cant look for updates and cant download updates im not that good with computers so any help would be greatly appreciated i have AVG running but not sure if that has anything to do with it i also have advanced system protector running i think it is probably a simple fix but not really knowing what settings to tweak or press any help would be greatfully recieved :huh:

If you are using the paid version of Advanced System Protector it monitors changes to the registry
Try disabling it before you update
