I just used the Restore CD furnished by Gateway to restore my XP Home. Before it installed, I saw a backup application running. I assume that my files are still on the HD since the 72 gigs are showing. How can I get them back where they were in my newly freshened system?

Gateway would be responsible for providing directions for the use of such CD.

I suggest that you review your owner's manual and the Gateway website for specifics of what you can and cannot do with said restore CD, how it all works, etc.

Hi, Have you tried searching for an old directory, Maybe C:\Old ? or depending on the system, e.g Dell, Maybe C:\Dell\Old_Data ?

Try reinstalling the audio drivers for your system...available by download at the Gateway website.
