I currently have a compaq presario with Windows XP installed. I noticed my pc running alittle sluggish, getting stuck, long waiting periods to connect, so I decided to use my restore cd's to see if the sluggishness would go away. Now my PC, although it took the cd's ok, my pc will only reboot, or start in Bios. It will not accept my cd anymore, only it goes str8 to BiosI have tried to use the fuction keys to see if it would reboot into safe mode or something, but it doesnt. Any suggestions out there to help cure my PC.......

Hello Feedup in Lakewood and welcome to BC.

Compaq Bios's are not very user friendly. Is there a way to reset the Bios defaults? It should show on any page in the Bios. Are your time and date displaying correctly in the Bios? Is there an area to Auto Detect Hard Drives? If so go there.
