Recovering data after repair install

hey...my XP crashed thus i had 2 repair it and i had a password enabled. when it finishd installing the OS it askd me 4 a password and my old one didnt work
i installed a fresh OS without formatting the harddrive coz of the info in it. and nw i cnt access my info which was in my documents in my old XP and it doesn't even show my username in Documents and settings folder. hw can i b able to access it? i need the data ASAP :thumbsup:

Let's see if I understand correctly....you installed XP and the result was a request for a pasword which you say doesn't work.

You have more than 1 hard drive installed? I guess I don't see how you could do a new install, if you don't.

Before we go any further...system manufacturer and model?

So...are you saying that you have an install of XP that allows you to see the other install? Are they on the same partition? Are they on different partitions or drives?

What error message (exact wording) did you get?
