Last Forum at a loss couldnt help/Unable to run any scans

We could not get anything to run ~ MG


When I try to run any scans my system flashes to what appears to be a DOS window that is completely black.
The file name that flashes in the blue bar is this:

windows/system 32/desot.exe

The window does not stay open it quickly flashes then disappears

The same thing happens when I try to enable the windows firewall in my control panel when I try to click on security settings.

Once specific occurrence I am also seeing is I try to go to forums on your site for example and I get looped to google and this appears as the
address it goes to:

and says page not found

I am unable to provide a screen shot but Windows Antivirus prod window denying internet access to the program pops up saying internet explore is possibly injected with worm backdoor.win32.hupigon.fixn. Then it says the attack took place in whatever site I am currently in . For example it is saying the attack took place at bleepingcomputers.com.
This event takes place prior to the looping error to google.

I have been working with garmanma in your other forum. Even trying to rename the files with .scr extensions doesnt work, as the virus just tacks on an .exe extension when I rename it . Garmanma, short of reformatting, cant think of what else to do. Any direction or help would be appreciated

If you have since resolved the original problem you were having, we would appreciate you letting us know. If not please perform the following steps below so we can have a look at the current condition of your machine.

Please reply to this so we know you are there. If you have not done so, include a clear description of the problems you're having, along with any steps you may have performed so far. Normally, I request an updated scan, but with your problem, please hold off running anything and just let me know you still need help by replying to this thread.

Upon replying, another staff member will review and take the steps necessary with you to get your machine back in working order clean and free of malware.

Also, please subscribe to this topic, so you are notified when someone replies. Please continue to check manually on occasion, as every now and then the email may be caught by your spam filter.
To enable topic notifications you should do the following:
  • Click on the My Controls link at the top of the page to enter your control panel.
  • Scroll down to the Options category in the left hand side menu bar and click on the Email Settings link.
  • Put a checkmark in the checkbox labeled Enable 'Email Notification' by default?.
  • Set the If ticked, choose default type: menu option to Immediate Email Notification to have an email sent immediately when someone replied.
