My computer is plagued with extremely slow startup. I have discovered the process 'mcsheild.exe' is running and taking between 5% and 50% of the CPU - this lasts about 15 minutes after each boot / login. During this time, you can hear the disk cranking away. After mcshield gets done doing whatever it does, performance is OK again. I have contacted McAfee, but so far all they have done is re-install their programs, which makes no difference.

"mcshield" is supposed to be an on-demand scanner; does anyone know why it feels it has to do a lot of work at startup, or have other suggestions? Thanks.
