I have recently had my computer infected with the "Windows Police Pro" virus, I got rid of the bigger problem by renaming the .exe. extension for windows police pro and then deleting it. After deleting it and running Malwarebytes Anti-Malware I was again able to run my programs, it stop me from running any files with .exe extensions, but now I get a pop-up error: "Bad Image"...globalroot\systemroot\system32\gasfkyklmlyghsus.dll everytime a program runs or one is running in the background.

How do I correct this? I am running Windows XP with Norton Anti-Virus. I have been read thread after thread of this rootkit but have not attempted anything further then what was listed above. Even Norton offered me nothing in the help department. They reffered a lot to this site, so this is my final stop in hopes of getting this resolved.

  • Download DDS by sUBs from one of the following links. Save it to your desktop.
  • Double click on the DDS icon, allow it to run.
  • A small box will open, with an explaination about the tool. No input is needed, the scan is running.
  • Notepad will open with the results.
  • Follow the instructions that pop up for posting the results.
