It says it's memory type is GDDR5; is this what it runs or what the mobo must support to run?

It also mentions DirectX 11, which I'm pretty sure hasn't been released and isn't compatible with most if not all hardware; how is this going to work? I could be wrong these are just things I have heard.

Sorry about posting so much, thanks.

The 5870 is supposedly almost identical to the Current 4870. GDDR5 is just the graphics cards' base memory. Most of the time, the only thing the involves your motherboard that has to do with graphics card is your PCI port. It has to be a PCI Express x16 for a 5870.

And it probably means it will support DX11, which is currently in development. DX11 is based on DX10, so anything that needs DX10 will most certainly work with DX11, or at least that's how it goes.
Who said I couldn't have everything?

The 5870 is the first DX11 card out, the card will work on a PCI-E slot, and is backwards compatible with DX10/DX9 games, but they won't(obviously) run in DX11.

From what I have seen of the card so far it's seem to be having some srs performance in it! Some benchmarks!
