My computer was running slowly so I decided to download some of my files to
CD's. In trying to organize the files, I did a alt/print screen and then did an edit/ paste into a word document to organize the file names for retrieval. Since my computer was still running (or crawling slowly,) I then ran MacAfee, Spybot and Window Washer to clean my files further. When I tried to do a print screen/ paste to print again, this function totally failed. I tried to restore my computer to an earlier period when things were working, but alas no luck. I can no longer use a print screen function and all I get are horizontal lines when I try to complete this function. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks so much!

Slowing problems can be hard to find, they can be anything from adware &/or malware infection, overheating, driver corruption, or damaged file system (Check Disk & Defrag.).
To start with lets make sure that all your fans are running and not bogged down with dust. Shutdown computer, open side of case and check for excessive dust buildup if so blow it out with compressed air.

Then

Lets see if we can find any hidden adware &/or malware.

Thanks for your suggestions. I think my system my be running a bit faster with cleaning out some of the junk files, but unfortunately the print screen function is still not working. Certainly appreciate all the suggestions! Thanks.
