I use a Dell PC @ home & it works pretty darn well. I just bought a used IBM ThinkPad T23. It came w/ a Docking Replicator & an AC Adapter. I am clueless on how to hook it up to the Internet. I bought it for my 5 week trip to Costa Rica, to stay in touch etc. I don't know what other pieces I need to go online. It has a built-in fax/modem: 56K V. 92, Infrared port speed: 4Mbps, 4X AGP Ultra High Resolution 16MB Graphics Card. 30 GB, 384 RAM. I don't know what all these 3s and titles mean, 'cept the GB & RAM. I sure appreciat any help. I searched all over for this type of Topic, & apologize if it is redundant.
Thanx! Duane

You have a Network card for DSL or Cable, a modem as you state for dialup and wireless card with antennae according to what I can find about the T23. So you have all the bases covered.

What type of internet access are you going to have where you are going? Thats what it comes down to.

Thanx 4 your help...I am going to Costa Rica 4 5 weeks, & basically, I think it would be good to be able to go 'either-way' depending on what my hotel/motel offers. Some have cable, DSL, not sure about. I think many have dial-up.
