My cursor keeps freezing up. It'll be working fine for a little while, then sometimes it doesn't move when I move the mouse, so I have to unplug the mouse connection on the back of the PC and it'll start working again. This is a USB/optical mouse. KIS hasn't said anything about malware or anything of that type.

I just ran malwarebyte and didn't find anything. Could the mouse be going bad?

The mouse is the logical suspect, IMO...since it seems to be the only system component affected.

I would make sure the USB ports are working properly (change the mouse location) first...then I would uninstall the mouse drivers, reboot, and allow them to reinstall.

If problems still persists, I'd try a different mouse.
