For anyone that has ever owned a Sony brand car stereo you will most likely know what I'm talking about. When you turn the car off the stereo makes it painfully obvious that the faceplate needs to be removed by putting out a series of three annoying beeps. I can hear it in my head now, I even hear it when I sleep!! Okay, so it's not that bad, but I would really like to turn it off. Well, more than that my wife would like it gone. It drives her NUTS!

Before you ask, yes I have looked through the instruction manual and the best it has is a description of the stupid beeping. Thanks a lot Sony.

Please help before my new stereo is smashed!
I would never ask a person to do something that I wouldn't do myself.

I also was unable to find any 'menu' delete option. And from the posts on the web it's a huge annoyance that Sony refuses to acknowledge.

Take a look at the last 4 posts and see if this is an option you can use. http://community.crutchfield.com/forums/p/830/2919.aspx
