Hello

I have XP Pro

I was using Epson 636U scanner from Paper Port 6.1 and it was working fine
on USB port

Now I installed Cannon and it is working from PP OK, but when I reconnect
Epson, the PP still thinks that Cannon is connected and I get error message.

How do I choose which driver to use?

How do I uninstall Cannon driver ?

Thank you.

R.

Scanner software (including all-in-ones) installs the twain driver.

I would just uninstall the corresponding software which I formerly installed, http://www.ehow.com/how_5076572_remove-twain-drivers.html.

Hi Louis

I did not see twain in add/remove programs

I went into device manager and do not see them there either.

I did search for *.twain *.twunk and it is empty.

I reinstalled Paper Port and installed Epson drivers but it still

picks the Cannon

What is wrong?

Thanks,
R.

I meant to uninstall all...the Canon software...not just the driver. I knew that I should not have included that link .

Hi Louis

There is no entry in Add/Remove programs about Cannon nor Epson.

But my search found folders Twain and twain_32 in C:\windows

and within twain_32 I have folders CNQL20 created today ( for Cannon ?)

and EPFB3 created long ago ( for Epson ?).

Does Paper Port pick the first one in the list as default?

Will I screw_up smth else if I delete Cannon folder?

Should I rename it to ZCNQL20 ?

Thanks,
R.

I have no idea...every scanner that I have used (haven't used one in some time) required installation of the software/driver.

My twain_32 folder reflects 1 file, wiatwain.ds, and no folders of any type. That appears to be the singular file supplied by Microsoft for scanners.

Hi Louis

I have another HD where PP and Epson scanner work

I will have to use that one when I need Epson, I guess.

I do not want to make this HD ready for reformat

if I delete smth that's needed.

It is an old version of PP I have. I hope the new ones have

a choice out of available installed twain scanners.

Thanks again,

R.
