Hi all

I am a new member to the site and hope someone can help me. My laptop has contracted the above virus and despite buying software and taking to PC World I have not been able to remove.

The virus initially hijacked the browser and turned the desktop background black with the message that the computer was infected with virus. Subsequently the computer now runs out of control and does not respond to keyboard. So can not even download other products eg HijackThis that have been recomended

Has anyone experienced this and/or found a solution?

Reboot into safe mode with networking support and try the removal steps from there

In safe mode can you get hijackthis and create a log? If so do so and create a log in the HijackThis logs forum and someone will help you there.
