I tried running malware bytes in safe mode and it found nothing. When rebooting, it was back up again. This is really driving me crazy.

Wiped the PC clean  I didn't want to do it, but since making this post I have successfully installed all of my old programs. To anyone else out there with this infection, back up what you can and wipe your system clean. This virus/malware is unbelievably hard to get rid of.
