I came here to state exactly the same problem as the topic starter is having I have tried many different scanners all of which start but then dissappear, the only one which worked through an entire scan was superantispyware and that seemingly didnt work because although it detected many things when it restarted my computer to remove them the problems are still there.

I hope you dont mind me posting here I can start another thread if desired its just these are the same problems that I am having.

I just did the thing in the post above and got this:

Running from: C:\Documents and Settings\PC Owner\Desktop\tater.scr

Now that you were able to produce a log you need to post it in our HJT forum:
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/f/22/virus-trojan-spyware-and-malware-removal-logs/
Start your own topic
Give a brief description and tell them that this log was all you could get to run successfully
The HJT team is extremely busy, so be patient and good luck

why won't my laptop work?

Having grandkids is God's way of giving you a 2nd chance because you were too busy working your butt off the 1st time around
Do not send me PMs with problems that should be posted in the forums. Keep it in the forums, so everyone benefits
