vista disc check start up problem

is the disk check during start up supposed to take a long time? i have vista 64 bit and i have the aurora boot image on and cannot see any percentage. i got tired of waiting and tried to boot safe mode but its also stuck at please wait... i have been waiting for an hour... what should i do?

alao, my c drive is around 300 gb full
