if you want quality, drop the dell, IMHO. veiwsonic is for great colors, and i heard samsung can really pull off whites. its your choice really.

I would go with Viewsonic, and a good model (the one I have) is the Professional Series P95f+. It's 19" with 18" wiewing area, has a button to increase the brightness for games (3x) and DVDs (4x), and flat screen. I forgot how much it costs, but I think it is in the $300 range. I don't see it on newegg anymore, but here is the company site http://www.viewsonic.com/support/desktopdi...plusb/index.htm.

Also, stick with CRTs (I like the flat screen models) if you plan on gaming. They can run higher resolutions and higher refresh rates than all but the most expensive LCDs (expensive being around $1000).

The Viewsonic you chose seems like a good choice, and newegg is a great site. The only gaming option I don't see on it is the brightness adjustment button. I really like it, but it's up to you. Since you do gaming and movie making, it might be a good idea.
