I am not sure where I got the infection...teenagers are wonderful. But I know I am infected with msa.exe for I notice msa and b.exe in the task manager. Kill them and of course they come back. Every antivirus or antispyware program I try to run will not operate....even hjt. I open the program...it acts like its going to work and then it shuts down. When I try to reopen the program I am told I dont have the rights to do so or the program is inaccessible. I attempt to go to websites and I am redirected no matter what addy I put in the bar...even www.bleepingcomputer.com is difficult to navigate to. Seeing as how I can not get any programs to run...even in safe mode I decided to come here. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated. Waiting anxiously for a reply, Paula

Ok.....I cant do any of the steps listed. I can not run any of the programs...shuts them down as soon as they open and then I can not access them again. The only way I can be here is to be running in safe mode. I have attempted the steps in the subforum regularly, safe mode with and without networking. So I am at a loss as to what to do or where to go now.

Can you do below step? Just do it in Safe Mode if you can't do it in Normal Mode.. If yes, please proceed and open a New Topic at HijackThis Logs and Virus/Trojan/Spyware/Malware Removal forum

Download OTL by OldTimer and save it to your desktop.

Under the Custom Scan box paste this in

netsvcs
%SYSTEMDRIVE%\*.exe
%systemroot%\system32\eventlog.dll
%systemroot%\system32\scecli.dll
%systemroot%\netlogon.dll
%systemroot%\system32\cngaudit.dll
%systemroot%\system32\sceclt.dll
%systemroot%\ntelogon.dll
%systemroot%\system32\logevent.dll

Don't change any setting... Just click on the Run Scan button.. Let it scan till finish.. Then post the logs produced to your New Topic at the HijackThis Logs and Virus/Trojan/Spyware/Malware Removal forum.. Also please list all computer problem in details.. Someone else (not me) will get on to you

Hello,

Now that you have posted a log here: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/258301/msaexe-otl-log/ you should NOT make further changes to your computer (install/uninstall programs, use special fix tools, delete files, edit the registry, etc) unless advised by a HJT Team member, nor should you ask for help elsewhere. Doing so can result in system changes which may not show in the log you already posted. Further, any modifications you make on your own may cause confusion for the helper assisting you and could complicate the malware removal process which would extend the time it takes to clean your computer.

From this point on the HJT Team should be the only members that you take advice from, until they have verified your log as clean.

Please be patient. It may take a while to get a response because the HJT Team members are EXTREMELY busy working logs posted before yours. They are volunteers who will help you out as soon as possible. Once you have made your post and are waiting, please DO NOT make another reply until it has been responded to by a member of the HJT Team. Generally the staff checks the forum for postings that have 0 replies as this makes it easier for them to identify those who have not been helped. If you post another response there will be 1 reply. A team member, looking for a new log to work may assume another HJT Team member is already assisting you and not open the thread to respond.

Please be patient. It may take several days, up to two weeks perhaps less, to get a response but your log will be reviewed and answered as soon as possible. I advise checking your topic once a day for responses as the e-mail notification system is unreliable.

To avoid confusion, I am closing this topic. Good luck with your log.
