Hey guys ive been banging my head against a wall getting nowhere with this one, maybe you might be able to shead some light.

I've been getting random windows explorer and mmc (device mgr, etc) crashes. Most of the time the crashes occur when i open it (ie opening a new win explorer or dev mgr window) also sometimes explorer will crash immediatly after a right click. 90% of the time i will be able to click the restart program option that comes up and it will then work fine. The other 10 times i will need to do a full restart to get the program to open. Even when i need to do a restart most other programs will work fine. The crashes don't happen very often but caused me to do a full reinstall (Drive reformat & partition) from vista x64 to win7beta only to have the exact same errors come back. I know the easy answer is that its crashing because its windows 7 however it was also happening when running vista!

So far I have tried
Memtest - comes back clean
HD Extended test - comes back clean
MBAM - Comes back with one false positive (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer\NoActiveDesktopChanges)
GMER - "Hasn't found any system modification" - Started with Error C:\Windows\System32\config\system: The system cannot find the file specified
System Repair Engineer - stopped working
Nod32 - Deep Scan came back with a few false positives
SFC -came back with a msjet40.dll error

Any other suggestions are appriciated!

msjet40.dll is a process belonging to the Microsoft Jet Engine program . msjet40.dll is the main component of the Microsoft Jet database engine which evaluates and carries out requests for data. The file handles reading and writing of the data for Microsoft Access databases. For non-native data, then the file makes calls to either the ODBC Driver Manager DLL or one of the external installable ISAM DLLs. Determining whether msjet40.dll is a virus or a legitimate Windows DLL depends on the directory location it executes or runs from.

Try re-registering msjet40.dll. C:/Windows/System32, scroll down to the DLL and "Right Click" and click "Register This Component"

See if that helps
