Hi - I'm in the middle of nowhere with download speeds of 3/kb or so.

BASICS
Windows Vista
HP Pavillion dv6000 (Laptop)
Virtumonde (only Spybot would find it- always comes back right away)
Was using outdated (behind 3 weeks or so) AVG (think infected)
Was using outdated (behind 3 weeks) Spybot
Have Windows defender and Updates (were outdated)

DESCRIPTION OF PROBLEMS
Hi- I'm pretty lost. Willing to buy removal software- just don't know what works. Have searched manually using 'manual removal' lists but computer locks up and says error when I try to remove dll -type files- windows stops working goes black, even when I search for some files (.dll, I think).

Even windows update and Defender seems wonky- AVG absolutely 'odd' sometimes if I 'repair' Spyware Doctor or reinstall Maleware Antimaleware- I can get a 'scan'. Just now RootRepeal is freezing and refusing to work (first time it tried kept saying "API Locked" or something like that in description. Tried to scan first time but froze part way through.

I'll attach Hijack log; and DDS files (2); RootRepeal frozen won't start again even after exit and restart..

Began about 3 months ago- Screen would flash now and then- "Your Infected" "Go Here"

I ignored the sites- but then internet would start 'locking up'- I have INCREDIBLY slow- dial-up anyway (3 kb)- way out in the boonies- it would just sit on blank page with '20 percent loaded' - forever. (seems almost normal considering speed).

Went to library searched and searched -tried solutions: download Windows Vista updates. AVG updates, Spybot updates. Spybot would scan and say Virtumonde. So I downloaded Maleware, Spyware Doctor, SuperAnti Spyware, FixVundo- nothing seemed to work- Most won't even find- some find 3 or 4 'viruses during a scan'- but any attempt to remove crashes or they just come right back in cookies. For searches I'm told I have 'no access', hidden files turned on, etc. Forgot to mention, have 'screen flashes' now and then like a DOS window is opening 1, 2, 3 times and closing too quick to see- doing something on its own

SOLUTIONS?
Direction, advice, the best antivirus to buy (does it work for removal? - there are many voices- but everyone is selling something - I don't know to believe), etc. Anything (at all) would be great!

May Gods Grant Blessings - as your time is appreciated

THANKS. YahooSerious

P.S. Uploaded HiJack File too- as nothing seems to work-

Please note that your topic was not intentionally overlooked. Our mission is to help everyone in need, but sometimes it takes just a little longer to get to every request for help. No one is ignored here.

If you have since resolved the original problem you were having, we would appreciate you letting us know. If not please perform the following steps below so we can have a look at the current condition of your machine.

If you have not done so, include a clear description of the problems you're having, along with any steps you may have performed so far.

Upon completing the steps below another staff member will review and take the steps necessary with you to get your machine back in working order clean and free of malware.

If you have already posted a DDS log, please do so again, as your situation may have changed.
Use the 'Add Reply' and add the new log to this thread.

Thanks and again sorry for the delay.

We need to see some information about what is happening in your machine. Please perform the following scan:
  • Download DDS by sUBs from one of the following links. Save it to your desktop.
  • Double click on the DDS icon, allow it to run.
  • A small box will open, with an explaination about the tool. No input is needed, the scan is running.
  • Notepad will open with the results.
  • Follow the instructions that pop up for posting the results.
  • Close the program window, and delete the program from your desktop.
Please note: You may have to disable any script protection running if the scan fails to run. After downloading the tool, disconnect from the internet and disable all antivirus protection. Run the scan, enable your A/V and reconnect to the internet.

Information on A/V control HERE
regards,
schrauber
