I have reinstalled Windows XP on an old Dell Dimension 4500 using the disks that came with the computer when it was purchased.
The disk for Drivers and Utilities had all the drivers that were needed except the driver for: Multimedia Audio Controller.

I have searched the internet for this one, but without success.
Does anyone know where I might find this driver or if the device has a different or more specific name that might help me to find it?

Thanks in advance.

The Dell website...is a wonderful place to find drivers for Dell systems, http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/...tid=&impid=

Download/install the particular sound driver which applies to your system.

A google search for your machine and driver problem reveals that the driver can be found here: http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/...tid=&impid=

If it's onboard sound look for ADI 198x Integrated Audio. It should be the second item under the audio tab.
