Partitioniong a USB

I have an 8 GB USB which i would like to partition into two bits, a 1 and a 7 gb partition. Is there any way to do this? I googled some stuff but it didn't work too well. Any ideas?

-- Oh yeah and im running XP on a fairly ancient system. With a moderately good hitachi or something like that usb.

You sure can. Have a look at our Gparted tutorial it should help you out
