fatal system error

I turned on my computer and I got

Stop: c000021a {Fatal System Error}
The Windows Logon Process system process terminated unexpectedly with a stutus
of 0xffffffff (0x00000000 0x00000000)

There is stuff on my hard drive that I still need to backup. It happed on my other computer.

Have you considered using a Linux Live CD to access your docs/photos etc? If your computer can be set to boot from CD here's an intro to the process:
