CD/DVD drive not working

Hi, Newbie here, My cd/dvd drive doesn't work. Device manager says sucessfully loaded driver but can't find the device (Code 41). I know the hardware works as I have 2 identical laptops and both drives work in one but not the other. Any ideas? Thanks
