Hello and welcome to Bleeping Computer

We apologize for the delay in responding to your request for help. Here at Bleeping Computer we get overwhelmed at times, and we are trying our best to keep up. Please note that your topic was not intentionally overlooked. Our mission is to help everyone in need, but sometimes it takes just a little longer to get to every request for help. No one is ignored here.

If you have since resolved the original problem you were having, we would appreciate you letting us know. If not please perform the following steps below so we can have a look at the current condition of your machine.

If you have not done so, include a clear description of the problems you're having, along with any steps you may have performed so far.

Upon completing the steps below another staff member will review and take the steps necessary with you to get your machine back in working order clean and free of malware.

If you have already posted a DDS log, please do so again, as your situation may have changed.
Use the 'Add Reply' and add the new log to this thread.

Thanks and again sorry for the delay.

We need to see some information about what is happening in your machine. Please perform the following scan:
  • Download DDS by sUBs from one of the following links. Save it to your desktop.
  • Double click on the DDS icon, allow it to run.
  • A small box will open, with an explaination about the tool. No input is needed, the scan is running.
  • Notepad will open with the results.
  • Follow the instructions that pop up for posting the results.
  • Close the program window, and delete the program from your desktop.
Please note: You may have to disable any script protection running if the scan fails to run. After downloading the tool, disconnect from the internet and disable all antivirus protection. Run the scan, enable your A/V and reconnect to the internet.

Information on A/V control HERE

If I don't respond within 2 days, please feel free to PM me.
Please don't ask for help via PM. The forums are there for a reason. Please post in the forums so others may benefit as well.

Hi I just want to say thank you for providing me help and I really appreciate it.
I have not done anything to try to improve the condition of my computer.
The problem that I am having is that the computer is running really slow overall.
For example when I turn on the computer, takes a long time to load up. Whenever I try to open a program it takes really long to load up.
It is really frustrating.

Here is the DDS File

Hi Manvir,

There's nothing showing in those logs.

The slowness you are experiencing could well be nothing to do with malware at all. The symptoms could be to do with a number of other hardware or software issues.

Before we try and troubleshoot that, your Java is out of date.

Old versions of Java are big doors to malware. JavaRa removes them and updates your version to the most current.

Please download JavaRa to your desktop and unzip it to its own folder
  • Run JavaRa.exe, pick the language of your choice and click Select. Then click Remove Older Versions.
  • Accept any prompts.
  • Open JavaRa.exe again and select Search For Updates.
  • Select Update Using Sun Java's Website then click Search and click on the Open Webpage button. Download and install the latest Java Runtime Environment (JRE) version for your computer.

Please run these two tools and post the resulting logs

Please download Hardwareinfo By aommaster

Download Conflictinfo By aommaster

Take a look over here for some software related fixes.

Hi

I uninstalled the old versions of Java and installed the new one.
The computer is noticeably running faster after I did this.

No hardware problems, RAM's a little low but nothing major.

Let's check a few other areas

Download Security Check by screen317 from here or here.
  • Save it to your Desktop.
  • Double click SecurityCheck.exe and follow the onscreen instructions inside of the black box.
  • A Notepad document should open automatically called checkup.txt; please post the contents of that document.

Now

Please download StartupLite. to your desktop and run it. It will explain any optional auto-start programs on your system, and offer the option to stop these programs from starting at startup. This will result in fewer programs running when you boot your system, and should improve performance.

Finally

Please download SINO by Artellos from here
  • Save SINO to a place you can remember and run SINO.exe.
  • Then please check the following checkboxes:
    System Info
    Services
    Boot Check
    Tasklist
    Startup Items
    Ipconfig
    Ping
    Netstat
    Hosts file
    Shares
    Routing Table
  • Once checked, hit the Run Scan! button and wait for the program to finish the scan.
  • A notepad file will pop up, Please copy and paste the content of the notepad into your next reply.
Note: If you try to interact with the program once it's started scanning it might appear to hang. The scan however will continue.

Thanks :(

Nothing there either. You should update your Adobe reader.

Did you run StartupLite?

yes
i did run startuplight and i disabled a few programs.

the labtop has gotten noticably slower for some reason again. It has gone back to where it used to be. I dont know why it is so slow. The internet pages take a long time to load. I have a wireless connection at my university and the connections is 54.0Mbps and the strength comes up as very good. But it is still slow. Programs such as Word and even if im trying to open my documents take a long time.

I recommend that you read this tutorial on the site which explains what you can do to speed up your PC.

As there is no malware involvement I will have to stop this topic. If in the next five days you think that that has changed then post back.

If the great article above doesn't help then I would suggest you post in the XP forum.
