Symptoms: -IE8 loads home page then produces error and forces quit.
- email scanning disabled in AVG and cannot be enabled.
- most malware programs are disabled after one attempt to run them.
- same occurs with "diagnostic" tools like HiJackThis, RootRepeal, DDS.SCR.

Logs: Infection is preventing the production of any logs (so far).

System: HP Pavilion m7680n running Win XP SP3 MCE. I am able to access the Internet using "Flock" browser.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
